Directing in-sitsu documentary films is often a backwards process. Real-life doesn't care what agenda you've set or treatment you've written. The action comes first, the script comes last.The McLain Brothers have made a career out of storytelling in this exciting and rapidly evolving arena.
Having made movies together since they were kids using a Super 8 camera, up through their recent productions of Space Research and You (with LucasFilm and NASA) and Everest ER (with the Himalayan Rescue Society), and have developed a uique improvisational style that is inspiring and fresh.
Brad McLain - Brad serves as writer and director and will lead the production team. He is a highly regarded science education and documentary filmmaker. He has most recently completed the feature-length documentary Inspire Me! Weightless Flights of Discovery. Additionally, he released Everest ER in 2006 .
Sean McLain- Sean McLain, Executive Producer, ACME Industrial Animation - long-time collaborator and brother of Brad McLain, bringing a wealth of experience in broadcast film production having written and produced projects for Showtime, Disney, Warner Brothers, and others
Michael Brown- Michael Brown, Director of Photography, President Serac Adventure Films – an accomplished filmmaker and Mountaineer, with 40 international film festival and industry awards, including three national Emmys from five nominations. Recent productions include Farther than the Eye Can See, 3 Peaks in 3 Weeks (set in Africa), and Return to Everest IMAX (coming 2012), among others.
